The village of Krokos                                                                          It is one of the smallest on the island and it took its name from the saffron plants, "kròkos" in Greek, which were intensely cultivated in the past for dyeing the weaving yarns, and for coloring the local distillated "rakì". At walking distance from the house you can enjoy an interesting variety of good food through 3 nice little restaurants, covering your breakfast, lunch or dinner needs.  From Kròkos, strategically located in the inland and well protected from the typical Cycladic wind, other than famous Kolymbìthra beaches you can rapidly drive to lots of surrounding traditional villages such as Vòlax and its unique landscape with the mysterious granite spherical boulders, and than Skalàdos, Koumàros, Loutrà, Xinàra, Kòmi, Kallonì....
